Solar PV Installation – Manufacturing Facility, Hereford

Solar PV Installation – Manufacturing Facility, Hereford

Overview:

A commercial manufacturing facility based on an industrial estate in Hereford approached MJS Energy to reduce high electricity costs driven by intensive production processes. The client required a solution that would significantly cut operational expenses while delivering a fast
return on investment.

Initial Assessment & Feasibility Study:

MJS Energy conducted a full feasibility study of the site, reviewing detailed electricity consumption data. The analysis confirmed consistently high energy usage across production, making the site an ideal candidate for a large-scale solar PV system. Based on this, a system was designed specifically to match the facility’s demand profile, with a projected return on investment in under two years.

System Design & Installation

The final system specification included:

  • Inverters: 2 × 60kW Solis Inverters and 1 × 25kW Solis Inverter
  • Solar Array: 408 × 450W all-black solar panels
  • Total Capacity: Approximately 183.6kWp
  • Mounting: Roof-mounted across the facility’s buildings

The system was designed to maximise on-site energy generation during peak production hours, directly offsetting the facility’s grid consumption.

Outcome

The installation now provides a substantial proportion of the site’s energy needs, significantly reducing electricity bills. By aligning solar generation with operational demand, the systemdelivers immediate cost savings and is on track to achieve a return on investment in less than two years.

Conclusion:

This project highlights the impact of a well-designed commercial solar PV system for manufacturing environments with high energy demand. By leveraging available roof space and tailoring the system to consumption patterns, MJS Energy delivered a solution that improves efficiency, reduces costs, and strengthens long-term energy resilience.
